Madrid, 7 August 2025. Lantania has begun construction of the ‘Tordesillas T2’ electrical substation (SET) in Valladolid. The infrastructure, water and energy group has signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract to develop a 132/30 kV substation, a project backed by a €9.2 million investment.
The new facility aims to ensure the evacuation of energy from seven solar photovoltaic plants in the region, totalling over 290 MW, contributing to the integration of clean energy into Spain’s national grid. The contract covers the design, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of the substation, ensuring an efficient, safe and sustainable connection to the transmission network.
Construction of the substation is already underway, with an estimated completion timeline of roughly 12 months. The facility will feature a single busbar configuration at 132 kV, including seven transformer positions, one line position, one busbar position and one position for power voltage transformers with a secondary winding for auxiliary services.
This contract completes the project that Lantania Energía has been developing since late last year to build the electrical evacuation infrastructure for solar parks feeding into the Tordesillas node. The company secured two contracts worth nearly 60 million euros to construct a 9,800-meter underground 132 kV line, a 132/400 kV electrical substation, a metering centre, and a 2,000-meter underground 400 kV line. This new substation further expands these efforts.
