Madrid, 23 September 2026. Lantania has taken a further step in its expansion strategy with the acquisition of Revenga’s business unit, a company specializing in technological solutions for smart mobility and the digitalization of transport. Valued at just over €20 million, the transaction strengthens the infrastructure, water and energy group’s position in a market of strategic importance with strong growth prospects.

The acquisition includes the assets and operations of Revenga’s Rail & Terminals (RT) and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) business areas. The company will retain its brand and continue to operate as part of the Lantania Group.

The addition of these capabilities will enable Lantania to complement its expertise in infrastructure delivery with new capabilities in technology, digitalisation, communications and intelligent systems, further expanding its portfolio of high-value-added solutions.

The acquisition took place as part of Revenga’s insolvency proceedings and ensures the continuity of its operations and the preservation of 103 jobs, representing nearly 75% of its workforce.

This transaction is part of Lantania’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, under which the company aims to double in size and reach €1.1 billion in revenue. Among its growth drivers, the plan includes a selective acquisition strategy and expansion into new high-potential markets, such as digital infrastructure, which will play an increasingly important role in the company’s activities.

“The acquisition of Revenga is a natural step in our strategy of applying technology to infrastructure. It allows us to meet the growing demand for smart mobility and transport solutions while preserving the talent and expertise built up by its team over more than 50 years,” says Lantania President Federico Ávila. “This transaction reinforces our commitment to innovation. It will help us develop new projects, create synergies across our business areas and continue to increase the value we deliver to our clients.”

Since its inception in 2018, Lantania has established one of the strongest growth trajectories in the infrastructure sector. In just eight years, it has built a diversified Group with operations in 17 countries and the capability to deliver major infrastructure projects, including the Jubail 3A desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, the expansion of the Palma II wastewater treatment plant in Spain, the construction of Seville Metro Line 3, and the new electrical substation at the Port of Castellón.

Propietary tecnhnology for infrastructure

As a specialist partner in smart mobility, Revenga develops proprietary technology for traffic and transport management, including state-of-the-art free-flow tolling, intelligent road management and tunnel control, bus fleet management and operation, and fare collection and ticketing systems for metro and bus networks. With more than 50 years of experience in the rail sector, the company provides comprehensive telecommunications, safety and control solutions for metro systems, high-speed rail, conventional rail lines and trams, including proprietary developments such as RailRox, its smart solution for level crossings, certified to the highest safety integrity level, SIL-4.

The company has delivered projects in 24 countries for public authorities, concessionaires, operators and private companies, providing solutions across a wide range of infrastructure sectors, including railways, roads, metro systems, tunnels, ports and airports.

Among its key references are projects delivered for ADIF (Railway Infrastructure Administrator), for which Revenga has completed more than €68 million worth of signalling, telecommunications and safety projects on high-speed rail lines. These include the Monforte del Cid–Murcia section of the Madrid–Levante line and the Vandellòs–Camp de Tarragona connection of the Mediterranean Corridor. The company is currently working on the Murcia–Almería section.

In the road sector, notable projects include the implementation of an intelligent traffic management system in the Despeñaperros Tunnel for the Directorate-General for Roads, as well as the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the ITS systems and control centre for the new D4R7 motorway in Bratislava, Slovakia. Another flagship project is the development and implementation of the Fleet Management System (SAE), passenger information system, and ticket validation and sales system for Gipuzkoa’s interurban road transport service, which is part of the Lurraldebus network and comprises 254 buses.

More than 12 corporate transactions completed since 2018

The acquisition of Revenga strengthens Lantania’s track record in corporate transactions. Since its founding in 2018, the Group has completed more than 12 transactions, adding new businesses, teams and capabilities to the Group. These include the acquisition of the Velasco Group’s public works business, the Soil Group’s water business, DSV Constructora y Ferroviaria and the Polish company Balzola Polska.

This track record has enabled Lantania to gain experience in integrating companies and teams, as well as in turning around and developing businesses and creating new growth opportunities. The acquisition of Revenga is part of this diversification strategy towards higher-value-added activities.
