- Polish company to build a new building for the Lodz Court of Appeal and a bridge in the city of Krasnystaw
Madrid, 26 September 2024. Balzola Polska, a Lantania Group company, has signed two new contracts worth 35 million euros. The Polish company will build the new building for the Lodz Court of Appeal, a 25-million-euro project, and will also build a 10-million-euro bridge over the Wieprz river in the city of Krasnystaw. With the addition of these two new contracts, Balzola’s current project portfolio now totals 100 million euros.
In a consortium with Lantania and the Polish company ESB BUD, Balzola will build a complex for the Lodz Court of Appeal, which will consist of three buildings. The first will be an administrative building designed with a rectangular floor plan around a courtyard, with one underground floor and eight storeys above ground. A second block will serve as an underground archive and will be connected to the administrative building. The last building will be located in the vicinity of the administrative building and will be used for solid waste storage. The work is scheduled to last 42 months.
The new complex will cover a total area of 25,000 m2. Balzola will construct a modern and fully accessible building, equipped with facilities including an audio-visual system with videoconferencing capabilities. In addition, a friendly courtroom will be created, designed and adapted to hold hearings in an environment that minimises the stress associated with the role of the witness or participants in judicial proceedings (e.g., a child). The courthouse environment will include new vegetation and landscaping elements such as benches and bicycle parking. The planned green space will cover an area of 2,355m2.

The company will build a concrete arch bridge with a total length of 101.93 m and a total width of 18.39 m with a single carriageway with two 3.5 m wide lanes. The work is scheduled to last 30 months.
