- The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, visits the progress of the works of the complex and the Eastern Bypass of the city of Castilla y León
Madrid, 16 September 2024. Lantania advances in the works of the second phase of the Valladolid Railway Complex. The Infrastructure, Water and Energy Group, in a joint venture with Copcisa, is building the new freight transport terminal for Adif, which will form part of the strategic intermodal node network, together with a track technology centre (CTV), the Redalsa centre and an infrastructure maintenance base. The railway infrastructure manager has allocated an investment of 61 million euros for this project.
On Monday, the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, visited the progress of the works of the future Valladolid Railway Complex and the Eastern Bypass. He was able to observe the progress of the works together with the Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation of the Regional Government of Castilla y León. José Luis Sanz; accompanied by the president of Lantania, Federico Ávila, and the company’s general manager of Infrastructure, José Alberto Carrasco. The Government’s deputy delegate in Valladolid, Jacinto Canales, and the deputy director of Adif Constructions, Pablo de la Fuente, were also present during the visit.
The works carried out by Lantania and Copcisa will serve to establish new facilities in the Valladolid Railway Complex, including the new terminal for logistics services, the Track Technology Centre (CTV), Redalsa and the infrastructure maintenance base (BMI), which are currently located in other areas around Valladolid.
The objective is to provide adequate services to both passenger and freight traffic after the arrival of the High-Speed Railway to the city of Castilla y León. The new facilities will be located in the Valladolid Railway Complex, with a direct connection to the East Railway Freight Bypass, freeing up the space that these facilities currently occupy in more urban environments.
Currently, Lantania and Copcisa are working on the construction of civil works and the building of the electrical substation. In addition, the Redalsa and CTV offices are being built, together with the construction of the logistics services terminal building, where the installation of the lighting towers and track yard is also being carried out. In addition, intumescent protection is being applied in CTV’s main building, while earthworks and the implementation of ducts are being carried out in the Redalsa and logistics services terminal area.
