Lantania awarded the construction of the Ensenada Pelada WTPS (Tenerife)

  •  The cost of the works comes to 5.6 million euros

Madrid, 10th May 2021. Lantania is set to build the new Wastewater Treatment and Pumping Station (WTPS) of Ensenada Pelada in Tenerife. The Sociedad Estatal Aguas de las Cuencas de España (Acuaes), under the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco), has awarded a 5.6-million-euro contract to the joint venture formed by Lantania and Aquambiente for the completion of the works for the Ensenada Pelada ETBAR project as part of the wastewater treatment and reuse system for Granadilla in Tenerife.

The works are to consist of the construction of the new ETBAR, the pipeline to the future Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the installation of an underground outlet channel parallel to the impulsion, along with the launch of the infrastructure. The planned initiatives include pre-treatment and pumping, piping, electricity and control, as well as the building and urbanisation.

The construction of this station, next to the current one, will allow the pre-treatment of wastewater from the coastal subsystem and its transportation to the future WWTP, in the area known as Los Letrados, through a new ductile iron impulsion pipeline with an approximate length of 2,500 metres. The project also involves the installation of a gravity pipeline parallel to the impulsion and with an approximate length of 2,500 m, in charge of transporting the flow of water treated in the WWTP that cannot be reused until connecting with the submarine sewage tunnel in the vicinity of the new ETBAR. The deadline for completion of the works and launch of the infrastructure is two years.
