Lantania bolsters its management team with Julio Masid as General Manager of Energy

  •  The company beefs up its energy division, with Rafael Alcón joining as head of Renewable Energies

Madrid, 10 March 2022. Lantania solidifies its management team with the appointment of Julio Masid as General Manager of Energy. His new role will be as member of the Management Committee, reporting directly to the company’s CEO, Federico Ávila. Masid has more than 25 years of professional experience in the electrical infrastructure sector for the deployment of large turnkey renewable energy projects. In his new position, Masid will aim to strengthen the group’s energy business.

Lantania’s Energy Manager began his professional career at Elecnor’s Portuguese subsidiary in 1995, participating in the execution of the first large power line projects in Portugal. After a brief stint at Ferrovial Services, in 1999 he joined Isolux Corsán as a delegate in Galicia for the telecommunications department. In 2008, he became head of the international division and a year later was appointed area manager of the infrastructure and industrial services division. In 2014, he joined the Suez group (Agbar) as northern regional manager, acting as CEO of three of its concessionary companies for water and sanitation services in the north of Spain.

Masid graduated in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Vigo and studied an Executive MBA at ICADE Business School. He has been president and promoter of the first cluster of environmental technologies and circular economy of Galicia, Viratec. “I am proud to be part of the Lantania team, and it is a great opportunity for me to work to further boost its energy division,” said Masid.

The changes in Lantania’s Energy department come accompanied by the incorporation of Rafael Alcón as Director of Renewable Energies. Coming from Elecnor and Isolux, Alcón has extensive experience in the renewable energy market with a track record of more than 3GW built in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, South Africa and Japan. Antonio Espiñeira, until now Lantania’s Energy Manager, will head up the Group’s Marine division.
