- It joins the group that represents the most outstanding companies in the Medium Sized Business segment
Madrid, 15 November 2024. Lantania joins the CRE100DO Foundation’s community of excellent companies. The Infrastructure, Water and Energy Group has been selected, after a rigorous evaluation process, to form part of the exclusive CRE100DO community, an entity that promotes business growth by grouping and supporting more than 100 Medium Sized Companies (MSB) in Spain.
The incorporation of Lantania was made public during the Foundation’s Annual Event held yesterday evening in Madrid at the Mutua Madrileña Auditorium, which also marked CRE100DO’s tenth anniversary. In addition to the Lantania Group, the list of new incorporations was completed with nine other companies located in different parts of the country: Galenicum, Aluman Group, Matachana, Instituto Español S.A., Making Science, Fain, Matarromera, Kaleido Ideas & Logistics and Salicru.
For the president of the Lantania Group, Federico Ávila, being part of CRE100DO “reinforces our commitment to society. It will allow us to collaborate with leading companies to promote innovation and foster sustainable growth, contributing to the strengthening of the Spanish business fabric. We firmly believe that collaboration is key to building a more prosperous future for everyone and we are committed to sharing our knowledge and experience to achieve this goal”.
CRE100DO aims to promote business excellence by grouping and supporting outstanding companies of what it calls Medium Sized Businesses (MSBs), companies that due to their characteristics are capable of improving the competitiveness of our production model.
Key players in business growth
The CRE100DO Foundation companies, which represent more than 100 companies in the MSB segment, have experienced year-on-year growth of 10% over the last ten years, compared to 3.81% for the average Spanish company.
In celebration of the foundation’s tenth anniversary, the Annual Event took place this Thursday at the Mutua Madrileña Auditorium in Madrid. The objective of the event was to highlight the value of this business segment, which once again reaffirms its role as a key player in the country’s economic development. A role that, according to data available from the CRE100DO Foundation, is strengthened by the fact that the companies that make up this community are long-lasting, thanks to their sustainable growth.
Proof of this is that the combined turnover of CRE100DO companies is 25 billion euros, equivalent to 1.6% of the national GDP, and has generated 138,000 direct jobs. Likewise, their potential as economic and social drivers in rural areas is another key strength. CRE100DO companies are distributed throughout the country and, specifically, 40% of them are located in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants, contributing to local employment creation.
On the importance of recognition and projection of these companies, Rafael Vaquero, general director of CRE100DO Foundation, emphasises that “Medium Sized Companies play a crucial role in the Spanish economy, representing a bridge between small emerging companies and large corporations, while also being major job creators in their regions Therefore, there are many challenges ahead for the economy in order to change the structure of the business fabric. These include innovation aids for the development of new products and processes; a clear commitment to digitalisation and automation; training of personnel to create the workforce of the future; access to funding for long-term investment projects and the maintenance of a framework that enhances the reindustrialisation of Spain, particularly one that recognises the unique nature of MSBs, going from being binary – SMEs and large companies – to also include the MSBs”.
