- Certifies its best practices in this methodology with AENOR
Madrid, 13 August 2024. Lantania Infrastructure achieved the AENOR certificate for BIM (Building Information Modelling) Information Management. The Lantania Group’s general directorate of infrastructures has been accredited under the international standard ISO 19650-1/2 for its best practices in information management and the use of this working methodology in its building and civil works projects
This certification reinforces Lantania’s commitment to innovation and the use of digitalisation. It confirms that the company has successfully implemented the necessary policies, procedures, processes and technological tools to achieve a digital transformation that allows it to work on construction projects using the BIM model. This standard ensures that all Lantania projects meet the most rigorous international standards in terms of quality, efficiency and sustainability
BIM is a working methodology for the creation and management of a project that, in a collaborative way, centralises the information generated by all the participants in the asset’s life cycle. Thus, the project geometry is integrated with information such as planning, budgeting or measurements. The use of this system allows Lantania greater collaboration and communication between the agents involved in the project, complete visualisation of the project prior to its execution, improved coordination and mitigation of the risk associated with the execution and operation of the asset, as well as improved scheduling or sequencing. All of this results in increased productivity and reduced errors.
Lantania has implemented a comprehensive application of BIM technology in several of its projects. These include the construction of the Baix Llobregat bus lane and cycle lane in Viladecans (Barcelona) and the Albal station in Valencia. The model has also been used in the development of the necessary documents for the correct definition of the works for the improvement of the accessibility of the Ramón y Cajal commuter train station in Madrid and in the construction of the Isabel de Basilea Early Childhood Education Centre in Burgos. Currently, the company is using BIM in the works to improve the water intake at the Andévalo reservoir in Huelva.
