Lantania will carry out the urbanisation of the Central Pier of the Bilbao Port enlargement

 

  •  The contract awarded to the company in a joint venture with Iza Obras y Promociones amounts to 10.2 million euros

Madrid, 28th September 2020. The Port Authority of Bilbao has awarded Lantania, in a joint venture with Iza Obras y Promociones, the first phase of the urbanization works of the Espigón Central in the enlargement of the Port of Bilbao in the Outer Abra. The contract value is 10.2 million euros (including VAT) and the expected time frame for completion of the work is eight months.

The corresponding actions will be carried out in an area of 201,399 square metres and the scope of the work is part of the development project of the Central Pier of the Port of Bilbao. This work, which covers a total area of 341,784 square metres, has been divided into three stages. The first one has been distributed in civil works and infrastructure works corresponding to Phase 1 awarded to Lantania and Iza Obras y Promociones, and electrical installations, corresponding to Phase 2, pending allocation.

The action to be carried out will consist of building the roads connecting to the North-South roadway of internal communication of the Port of Bilbao, for which two roads and a connecting roundabout will be built. From this point, a road will be partially built along the entire length of the central pier to provide access to the different areas of the promenade by means of new roads.

In addition, the concrete slab will be executed in anticipation of the railway works along the entire jetty, as well as the paving works of the promenade area corresponding to this stage. Lighting and electricity installations and a CCTV system will be built along the entire length of the jetty, as well as the drainage network of the roads built, the complete railway platform and the promenade area.
