The company, in a joint venture with Sacyr, was awarded a €35 million Adif AV contract to install and maintain the catenary systema on the Talayuela-Plasencia section
Madrid, 25 November 2025. Lantania will be responsible for installing and maintaining the catenary system on the second section of the Madrid–Extremadura High-Speed Line (LAV). The infrastructure, water and energy group, in a joint venture with Sacyr, will execute the installation and maintenance of the overhead contact line and associated systems on the Talayuela–Plasencia section for Adif Alta Velocidad, working with a budget of €35 million (excluding taxes).
The project includes the installation and maintenance of the 70-km overhead contact line (catenary), power feeds from the catenary (feeder) to technical buildings or equipment shelters, the installation of gantries on both sides of the track, masts, beams and auxiliary supports, along with the foundations required for installation. The contract also covers section switches, linkages and electrical actuators, as well as the turnout heating system, including heaters and supply equipment.
These works will make the electrification of the entire section and all necessary testing and pre-commissioning activities from the end of construction until the line enters service possible. The Talayuela–Plasencia section will be the second stretch of the corridor to come into operation, following the opening of the Plasencia–Cáceres–Badajoz section in 2022, which has been electrified since 2023. With this contract, Lantania will participate in all electrification works on the Talayuela–Plasencia section.
Lantania is also building the Casatejada electrical substation in Cáceres, together with its associated autotransformer stations. This facility will supply power to the overhead contact line, ensuring electrical service for trains operating on this section. The company will commission the 405/±27.5 kV, 2×30 MVA traction substation in Casatejada and five intermediate autotransformer stations in Talayuela, Navalmoral de la Mata, Toril and Malpartida de Plasencia. It will also build a metering yard in Navalmoral de la Mata.
