  • The infrastructure, restored after being damaged by the DANA last October, has entered into service today

Madrid, 11 Febrery 2025. Lantania has completed the construction of the Albal Commuter Train Station in Valencia. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has put into service today this new infrastructure, located between kilometre points 104/040 and 104/320 of the Valencia-Xàtiva line, specifically, in the section between Catarroja and Silla. The station, located next to the municipality’s industrial estate and only 600 metres from the town centre, is a key facility for the region, where 74 daily trains of the C1 València-Gandía (34) and C2 València-Xàtiva-Moixent (40) lines of Valencia Commuter Rail network will stop daily.

The General Secretary of Land Transport, Marta Serrano, the General Director of Business and Operations of Adif, Jesús Maria Campo, together with the Government Delegate in Valencia, Pilar Bernabé and the town’s Mayor, José Miguel Ferris, have inaugurated the new station today, accompanied by the General Director of Infrastructure of Lantania, José Alberto Carrasco and the company’s Northern Region Delegate, Antoni Solé.

The station was affected by the DANA on 29 October, and for 11 weeks, Lantania has carried out restoration work for Adif on the damaged structure and facilities. The work has focused mainly on cleaning the mud and debris brought in by the DANA, that has blocked the station, as well as replacing all damaged elements, including technical rooms, the station building, the underpass and mixed concrete and methacrylate enclosure modules.

Lantania has built a passenger building consisting of two pavilions located at the head of both platforms, each with a floor area of 423m2, which feature access control points on both sides and are connected by an underpass. The works have also included restoring all communication and safety systems required for the incorporation of the new station into the railway system.

In addition, an 86m2 facilities building has been built and the urban development of the station plot has been completed, including its connection to the existing road network. The total surface area of this development is 6,126m2 with a total of 2,899m2 for vehicular traffic, which includes a parking area with 74 parking spaces, 489m2 of landscaped areas and 2,738m2 of pedestrian traffic areas.
