Urbanisation of the Central Breakwater in the outer port of Bilbao

Lantania, in a joint venture with Iza Obras y Promociones, carried out the first phase of the urbanisation works of the Central Breakwater for the extension of the Port of Bilbao in the Abra Exterior.

The works were carried out in an area of 201,400 square metres and consisted of the execution of the connection roads to the North-South carriageway of internal communication of the Port of Bilbao, for which two roads and a connecting roundabout were built. From there, a road was partially built along the entire length of the central breakwater, giving access to the different areas of the esplanade by means of new roads.

In addition, the concrete slabs were laid in anticipation of the railway works along the entire length of the breakwater, as well as the paving of the esplanade area corresponding to this stage. The lighting and electricity conduits and a CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) system were built along the entire length of the breakwater, as well as the drainage network of the executed roads, the complete railway platform and the esplanade area.
