Electrification of the first Plasencia-Badajoz section of the Madrid-Extremadura high-speed railway line

Lantania, in a joint venture with Sacyr Neopul and Comsa Instalaciones y Sistemas Industriales, is carrying out the electrification of the first Plasencia-Badajoz section of the Madrid-Extremadura high-speed railway line.

The works comprise the construction of the overhead contact line between Plasencia and the Peñas Blancas split, along a distance of approximately 125 km. It includes the access branches to Plasencia, Cáceres and Mérida and the conventional line sections Monfragüe – Plasencia, Madrid – Valencia de Alcántara and Aljucén – Cáceres.

This project also covers the electrification of the Plasencia and Cáceres stations, as well as Train Overtaking and Parking Stations (PAET) in Aldea del Cano.
